The example of Aesthetic –poetic Translation Product

by John Cornford
"To Margot Heinemann"

Heart of the heartless world,
Dear heart, the thought of you
Is the pain at my side,
The shadow that chills my view.

The wind rises in the evening,
Reminds that autumn is near.
I am afraid to lose you,
I am afraid of my fear.

On the last mile to Huesca,
The last fence for our pride,
Think so kindly, dear, that I
Sense you at my side.

And if bad luck should lay my strength
Into the shallow grave,
Remember all the good you can;
Don't forget my love.

By Chairil Anwar
"HUESCA"

Jiwa di dunia yang hilang jiwa
jiwa sayang, kenangan padamu
adalah derita di sisiku
bayangan yang bikin tinjauan beku

angin yang bangkit ketika senja
mengingatkan ku musim gugur akan tiba
aku cemas akan kehilangan kau..
aku cemas pada kecemasanku,.

di batu penghabisan ke Huesca
di batas terakhir dari kebanggaan kita
kenanglah sayang, dengan mesra
kau kubayangkan di sisiku ada

dan jika untung malang menghamparkan
aku dalam kuburan dangkal
ingatlah sebisamu segala yang indah
dan cintaku yang kekal.

Analysis
In my opinion the author, Chairil Anwar took accounts the emotions and the feelings of the poem in original version.I think it is not easy to translate the poem into the target language. It needs the specific skills to do those kind of translation. The poetic tranlation has considered the important aspect such as culture, emotion, affect and feeling. It is little bit difficult to translate the poem so it will not change the original meaning of the poem. But I think  chairil anwar could maintain this problem and it is proved by his product of translation
